A wonderful client recently made my day by sending me a very special New Year’s gift which included a copy of “Warrior of the Light – A Manual” by Paulo Coelho. I give you a few of his words:

We’re close to bidding 2023 farewell, and though it has flown by so quickly, I have to say it has been a significant year for me filled with challenges and transitions and, of course, moments of sheer pleasure.
These past few months most of my time has been spent speaking – at conferences, delivering keynotes, conducting workshops and facilitating leadership meetings.
The other night, as I was watching a movie on a streaming service, the buffering sign popped up – telling me to please wait because my computer needed time to buffer. I found myself thinking how great it would be if humans were built with an automatic ability to switch to a buffering period whenever we needed time – moments of slowing things down, re-anchoring, and thinking more deeply about things.
The other day my car light started blinking, letting me know that I was running out of gas or, to be more precise, that I was at 25% tank capacity. So, of course, my attention started to focus on finding a gas station soon so that I could fuel up.
We are in the midst of an energy crisis. In the world, and within ourselves. Anxiety, uncertainty, war, political tensions are all leading to collective burnout, depletion, and a sense of physical and emotional exhaustion.
Everyone I know seems to be scurrying around – trying to get all the work done before holiday closings. Before you know it, it will be a tumult of holidaying – however and whatever you do to celebrate – and then Boom! 2023 is upon us!
I hope the summer has been great for everyone. It was hectic, emotional, and productive for me….and for those of you who don’t know – I did a TedX talk in Italian! It was crazy – 38 degrees, they changed the venue, we had a big audience crowded in an attic meeting room of the commune – with no air-conditioning!
I love watching sports – the players are always so in-the-moment, they are future focused (i.e. where the ball is going not where it was, where the game is going, not where it was).
