We’re close to bidding 2023 farewell, and though it has flown by so quickly, I have to say it has been a significant year for me filled with challenges and transitions and, of course, moments of sheer pleasure.
I would easily say that one of my biggest learnings this year is to follow the energy. Obviously, I mean the positive, generative, creative energy. This involves honing my ability to discern the, mainly internal, cues that help me recognize in advance what behaviours and activities give me energy and zaps it. It also requires letting go of comfort zone habits that are so automatic that I don’t even notice them, but which drain my energy.
I have really had to look at so many of those things that give me a lot – that stimulate me intellectually or put me into contact with interesting people or give me a sense of achievement/prestige or that challenges me – and look at why, despite all the accomplishments and achievements, they still leave me feeling tired and unfulfilled.
So now I am now auditing my life – what gives me energy? What makes brings me alive? What drains my energy? How do I know the difference? How can I distinguish the quick adrenalin highs from deep sustainable energy?
And then, and perhaps most importantly, what am I prepared to do about it?
So, this is my wish for you in the new year: may the coming months bring you not only professional achievements but also personal clarity and joy. In a year that has demanded so much from all of us, I hope you find the time to reflect on what truly energizes and inspires you. May you do more of what you love, of what ignites you. May you be surrounded by those who uplift and support you. May you have a year of renewed focus, unwavering determination, and the discovery of new avenues that bring fulfilment and passion.
I look forward to hearing about all your stories and adventures in the new year. In the meanwhile, Wishing you and your team a prosperous and joyous New Year
Warmest Wishes,
